During the summer I spent a morning with Julie Zhan with the objective of making sloppy photos. This is just one of those purposeful attempts that I make to do the completely opposite of my usual work. I think it’s good to exercise different parts of the creative mind to up turn and find inspiration [Make Personal Work.] In this case Julie and I ran around the beach with a giant sheer cloth. I was looking to capture “fuzzy” movements –sort of like a memory. I shot with a low shutter speed, ND filter, and made an additional makeshift filter with a cut-up sandwich bag.
